BOSTON -- Quincy Ford netted 24 points, and Northeastern remained perfect in Colonial Athletic Association play with a 65-60 win over Hofstra Wednesday night.
Ford hit 11 of 17 from the field, aiding the Huskies (10-7, 5-0) as they continued their best CAA start since beginning 6-0 in 2008-09. Northeastern has now won six of its past seven.
David Imes led four Pride (5-12, 2-2) players in double figures with 19 points. Stevie Mejia added 12 points and Taran Buie and Stephen Nwaukoni 11 each for Hofstra, which is 0-8 on the road this year.
Northeastern sprang to a 10-3 lead and held the advantage throughout the contest. Jordan Allen hit a layup for Hofstra with 1:04 left to cut the margin to 63-60, but the Pride missed four field-goal attempts -- including three 3-point tries -- and Northeastern's Jonathan Lee drained two free throws in the remaining time.
