YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Jason Calliste scored 27 points on 10-of-14 shooting, and Detroit went on a 13-5 run in the first half en route to a 101-60 victory over Youngstown State in a Horizon League game on Thursday night.
Ray McCallum had 19 points and Evan Bruinsma chipped in 17 for the Titans (11-5, 3-0), who have won five in a row. Detroit is 8-0 this season and has won 22 straight when scoring 80 or more points.
DJ Cole led Youngstown State (9-7, 1-2) with 16 points, and Damian Eargle had 14 points and seven rebounds.
Detroit outrebounded Youngstown State 45-27.
The Penguins trailed only 13-11 on Eargle's jumper with 11:16 to go in the first half, but the Titans pushed the lead to 36-16 on Jermaine Lippert's tip-in with 3:56 remaining. McCallum closed the half with two free throws and a jumper to give Detroit a 45-24 advantage.
