MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Kyle Randall poured In 31 points, going 13 for 13 from the free-throw line, and Central Michigan held on to beat Bowling Green 73-67 Wednesday night in the Mid-American Conference opener for both schools.
The Chippewas (8-6) went on a 13-0 run in the first half and led 37-20 at halftime. But the Falcons (5-9) came back, shooting 59 percent after halftime, and finally tying the game at 60 when Jordon Crawford made a pair of free throws with 3:25 to go.
CMU's Oliver Mbaigoto made two free throws, and then dunked with 58 seconds left. Bowling Green got no closer than three points after that.
Randall was 8 of 11 from the field -- 2 for 4 from 3-point range -- and matched the team high with six rebounds.
Crawford led the Falcons with 29 points -- 25 in the second half. Anthony Henderson added 13 points for Bowling Green, which finished at 42 percent. The Chippewas shot 41 percent.
