CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Saah Nimley scored 20 points to lead Charleston Southern to a 105-59 rout of Virginia Intermont Saturday night.
Nimley was one of six Buccaneers (5-6) in double figures. Cedric Bowen came off the bench to score 17 points and grab eight rebounds. Sheldon Strickland added 14 points, Arlon Harper 11, and Jeremy Sexton and Joe Williams scored 10 apiece.
Virginia Intermont (7-8) was no match for Charleston Southern. The NAIA Cobras trailed 54-28 at halftime, then were outscored 51-31 in the second half.
Justin Morris led Virginia Intermont with 17 points and Joshua Hart added 16. But the Cobras were badly outshot. They went 20 for 59 from the floor, 8 for 27 in the second half. Virginia Intermont hit 4 of 19 3-point shots, Morris just 2 of 9 attempts.
Charleston Southern, meanwhile, shot 50.7 percent (37 of 73) from the floor, 15 of 28 on treys (53.6 percent).
