BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Stephon Carter scored 26 points and Cal State Bakersfield led wire to wire for a 69-49 victory over La Verne on Saturday night.
Cal State Bakersfield (4-6) had a 34-28 rebounding edge and had a 25-18 advantage off turnovers.
Carter, meanwhile converted all 12 of his free-throw attempts. La Verne (1-6) made just 7 of 11 as a team.
Brandon Barnes scored 12 points for Cal State Bakersfield, Tyrone White 10 and Adam Young 10. Young also had 10 rebounds and three blocked shots.
