HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- Cole Darling scored 25 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Wright State to a 63-57 win over Hofstra on Saturday.
Reggie Arceneaux finished with 13 points, five assists and six rebounds for the Raiders (7-3), who never trailed in the contest and led by as many as 14 points but had a tough time pulling away from Hofstra.
The Pride used an 11-2 run in the second half to cut Wright State's lead to 42-41 on a 3-pointer by David Imes. But Darling, who went 8 of 11 from the floor, scored five points during a 7-1 run to help Hofstra claim a seven-point advantage.
A 3-pointer by Hofstra's Taran Buie trimmed the lead to 60-57 with 36 seconds to play. But two free throws by Miles Dixon and one from Arceneaux sealed the win for the Raiders.
Jordan Allen scored 13 points for the Pride (3-8).
