INDIANAPOLIS -- Manny Arop and Jake Odum scored 18 points apiece as Indiana State defeated IUPUI 75-61 Saturday night.
The Sycamores (5-3) outrebounded IUPUI 40-25 -- Arop had nine boards and Odum eight -- and shot 50 percent from the field, including 6 of 13 on 3-point attempts.
Jordan Shanklin led IUPUI (4-9) with 19 points. Donovan Gibbs and Mitchell Patton added 12 each.
Indiana State scored the first six points of the second half to open up a 12-point lead. After the Jaguars pulled back within six on a Shanklin 3-pointer with 9:02 remaining, the Sycamores scored 12 straight points to take a 70-52 lead with 5:22 left.
Khristian Smith scored the first six points of that run and finished with 10. R.J. Mahurin added 12 points for Indiana State and Dawon Cummings had seven assists.
