CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Rian Pierson had 22 points and nine rebounds to lead Toledo to a 67-59 win over Eastern Illinois Saturday night.
Dominique Buckley scored 13 points for the Rockets (3-6). Julius Brown and Matt Smith added 10 points for Toledo, which has played eight of its nine games on the road.
Alex Austin scored 21 points to lead Eastern Illinois (3-8). Josh Piper added 17 points and Sherman Blanford scored 10 for EIU.
The Rockets led by as many as 13 points in the second half. Piper's 3-pointer with 1:25 left got the Panthers within 63-59, but they didn't score again.
