LAKE CHARLES, La. -- Desharick Guidry tallied his third straight double-double while Dontae Cannon and Jeremie Mitchell each scored 16 points to lead McNeese State 73-47 over Division III Texas-Tyler Monday night.
Guidry scored 14 points and pulled down 13 rebounds after posting a career-high 22 points with 13 boards against Centenary last Tuesday. The sophomore is averaging 16.7 points and 12.3 rebounds per game over his last three contests after averaging eight points and 5.5 rebounds in the team's first two games.
Mitchell was 6 of 13 from the field and 4 of 9 from beyond the arc, while Cannon was 6 of 12 from the floor.
The Cowboys (3-3) jumped to a 32-20 halftime lead by shooting 51.9 percent (14 of 27) from the field in the first half. The Patriots (4-1) shot just 30.8 percent (8 of 26) in the frame.
Texas-Tyler's 4-0 start had been the best in program history.
