CEDAR CITY, Utah -- Damon Heuir scored 16 points and Jaren Jeffery added 10 to lead Southern Utah to a 68-58 victory against Carroll (Mont.) on Wednesday night.

Heuir went 7 for 7 from 2-point range and 0 for 5 from behind the 3-point line for the Thunderbirds (1-4). Jaren Jeffery added 11 rebounds, and Jayson Cheesman had three blocks.

Ben Cutler scored 18 points and Nick Jones 11 for the Fighting Saints (0-6), an NAIA squad.

Southern Utah led 39-25 at the break and built the cushion to 62-41 with seven minutes remaining.
