LOS ANGELES -- Lazeric Jones scored 16 points and Travis Wear added 14 as UCLA defeated Richmond 71-63 on Friday night.
Jerime Anderson had 13 points, David Wear 12 and Joshua Smith 11 for the Bruins (7-5), who have won five straight games.
Anderson and David Wear had seven rebounds each as UCLA took advantage of the smaller Spiders (7-6). The Bruins enjoyed a 42-30 rebounding advantage and outscored Richmond 38-10 in the paint.
Darien Brothers led the Spiders with 25 points, and Derrick Williams added 14.
The score was tied 24-all at halftime, and UCLA scored the first seven points of the second half to take permanent control.
