MOBILE, Ala. -- Augustine Rubit and Antione Lundy each recorded double-doubles to lead South Alabama to a 70-57 win over Georgia Southern on Monday night.
Rubit had 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Lundy added 16 points and pulled down 12 boards for the Jaguars (7-3), who have won three straight for the second time this season.
The Eagles led 10-7 less than five minutes into the contest, but the Rubit and Lundy show got going and pushed the Jaguars ahead. Rubit's layup and a Lundy free throw tied the game and sparked a 10-0 run that would give South Alabama the lead for good.
The Jaguars led by 13 at the break and each team scored 32 in the second half to clinch the victory for South Alabama.
Willie Powers scored 16 points to lead Georgia Southern (3-6), which has lost back-to-back games for the third time this season.
