Texas-Arlington 72, North Texas 64

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- Rod Epps scored 14 points to help lead Texas-Arlington to a 72-64 victory over North Texas on Wednesday night.

The Mavericks' 4-0 record matched their best start in school history, equaling the 4-0 start of the 1992-93 team.

North Texas (3-1) used a 10-0 run late in the second half and closed to within 64-60 on a 3-pointer by Josh White. Texas-Arlington made six free throws over the final 1:05 and North Texas missed on two 3-pointers late.

Larry Posey and Jermaine Griffin each scored 12 for Texas-Arlington.

Keith Wooden got his second career double-double, scoring 17 points and getting 13 rebounds for North Texas. White added 15 points. Tristan Thompson scored 11 and Quincy Williams 10.

Texas-Arlington led 30-21 at the half.
