STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) -- Paris Carter scored 24 points and Ken

Adeleke added 20 points and 16 rebounds to help Hartford extend

Stony Brook's losing streak to seven games with a 76-65 victory

Thursday night.

Aaron Cook added 19 points for the Hawks (13-13, 9-6 America

East), who held a 34-26 advantage at halftime on the way to their

fourth straight win.

Mitchell Beauford scored 15 points to lead the Seawolves (4-22,

2-13) while Antwan Hardy and Mike Popoko each had 12.

Chris Cole connected on a layup and a 3-pointer as the Hawks,

who never trailed, held a 7-2 lead less than two minutes into the

game.

Two free throws by Beauford cut the lead to 19-18 at 8:12. But

Carter's 3 closed out an 11-3 run that increased the lead to 30-21.

In the second half Hartford led by as many as 14 twice, the last

time when Carter's tip-in made it 65-51 with 5:22 left.
