Utah State 65, Oral Roberts 64

LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- David Pak dropped in two free throws with 4.4

seconds remaining to push Utah State University to a 65-64 win over

Oral Roberts Tuesday night.

Jaycee Carroll scored 17 points, 15 of them in the second half,

for the Aggies (5-3) to go along with 16 from Pak.

The Golden Eagles (5-5) were led by Ken Tutt with 29 points and

Caleb Green with 14.

ORU took its first lead of the game at 64-63 with 25 seconds

remaining on a 3-pointer by Tutt, his fourth 3-pointer in the

game's final four minutes.

ORU's Eric Fowlkes missed a free throw after USU was unable to

score.

Scrambling for a final shot, Pak was fouled and dropped in his

only free throw attempts of the game.

Tutt scored 21 of his 29 points in the second half, shooting

7-of-12 from beyond the 3-point arc.

Trailing by as many as 18 points in the first half, the Golden

Eagles got to 48-46 with 7:30 remaining when Green wrestled up an

inside shot. USU countered with a 3-foot jumper by Carroll and then

the teams traded baskets the rest of the way until the game's final

hectic moment.

In the first half, USU ran out to a quick 19-5 lead, keyed by

three 3-pointers and a fast break tip-in by Pak. Both teams started

off the game shooting poorly, though USU ended the first half

shooting 44 percent, compared to ORU's 23 percent, and taking a

36-20 lead at halftime.
