Quinnipiac 88, Dartmouth 77

HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) -- Kevin Jolley scored a career-high 19 points

and added 11 rebounds to lead Quinnipiac to an 88-77 victory over

Dartmouth Monday night.

The Bobcats (5-3) needed Jolleys efforts because of a depleted

frontcourt. Quinnipiac was without starting center Victor

Akinyanju, who was out with a foot injury, while Karl Anderson, a

6-8, 235-pound power forward, missed his fourth-straight game with

a hamstring injury.

Jolley, a 6-5, 230-pound senior, entered the game averaging 5.7

points and 4.3 rebounds in 12.1 minutes but played 30 minutes

Monday, also a career high.

Craig Benson added 17 points while John Winchester had 15 and

Dale Meinbresse 11 for Quinnipiac. Freshman point guard Job Casimir

also had 10 points and six rebounds for the Bobcats.

Dartmouth (1-5) lost despite shooting 51 percent from the field.

The Big Green were led by point guard Michael Giovacchini, who was

7-for-8 from the field and scored 19 points.

The Big Green held a 36-26 lead late in the first half before

Quinnipiac went on a 10-2 run -- the final five points scored by

Casimir -- to knot the score at 38-38 at the half.

The Bobcats took control in the second half and led by as many

as 12.
