LEXINGTON, Va. (AP) -- Matt Murrer scored 18 and VMI pulled ahead

in the second half to beat Ferrum 97-74 Monday night.

Reggie Williams added 17 points and 10 rebounds for VMI (2-4),

which held Ferrum to 29 percent shooting in the second half for the

win.

Ferrum (1-6) led by as many as seven in the first half before

VMI took the lead off Williams' free throw with 18 seconds left and

Travis Holmes hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to put the Keydets up

50-46 at halftime.

The Keydets took Ferrum's Rob Fuller out the game in the second

half. He scored 20 in the first half, but managed only one field

goal -- a 3-pointer -- after intermission.

Preston Beverly and Holmes each had 15 for the Keydets, and

Tadas Mankevicius added 12 points.

Keith Harris scored 13 for Ferrum, and Rafael Holland had 11.
