Texas A&M 84, Miss. Valley St. 53

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) -- Acie Law scored a career high 30

points and had four steals Tuesday night to lead Texas A&M to an

84-53 victory over Mississippi Valley State.

Texas A&M (1-0) used a 15-2 run midway through the first half to

take an early 29-13 lead. Josh Carter hit two 3-pointers and Eddie

Smith banked in another 3-pointer during the run. Texas A&M led

50-31 at the half.

Stanford Speech, who led MVSU with 16 points, hit a 3-pointer

early in the second half to cut the Aggie lead to 18 points, but

the Delta Devils (0-3) could get no closer.

A&M forced 29 MVSU turnovers, more than the 27 the team

committed in its first two games combined.

Joseph Jones scored 15 points for the Aggies and his 7-of-8

performance from the field set his field goal percentage at 90.9

percent on the season.
