AZ Elite Spring Classic-April 10: We often tell kids that it's the little things that matter. We tell them stats don't mean everything. They hear that 'there is no I in team'. Yet it's always the leading scorer who gets all the pub. But not always the leading scorer who makes things happen or catches the eye of the coaches. Such is the case with Booke Gallway. Oh don't get me wrong, this prospect can score, and does often. But it's the little things about her game that make her stand out. Gallaway is a work horse from the moment she steps on the court. She has a knack for creating energy and always get herself involved in a play. This perimeter player adds good size to the guard line. She uses her strong frame to close the gap of a defender on the wing and muscle by. Once she has gained the advantage, she becomes a multiple threat, both as a finisher at the rim or finding the set shooter off dribble penetration. She flourished at the Spring Classic as a play maker. When penetration from both the wing and baseline drew weak-side defenders, she found open teammates for easy buckets. If her defense backs off to defend the bounce she is very accurate from beyond the arc. Whether she was making plays at the rim, distributing the ball, or just simply creating tempo with her energy; Gallaway did a little of everything this weekend. (Howe)
