Emi Martínez is making his debut in goal for Chelsea against Brighton & Hove Albion, just a few hours after the club confirmed his signing.
The Argentine goalkeeper, 33, has joined the Blues on a three-year deal, following his departure from Aston Villa after six years with the West Midlands club.
He has been in named in Xabi Alonso's starting XI for Chelsea's clash with Brighton, replacing Robert Sánchez -- who let in two goals during the Blues' 3-2 win over Fulham in their Premier League opener.
Martínez has been a key part of the Argentina national team for a number of years, having helped them to their 2022 World Cup triumph and playing an important role in their journey to this summer's final -- although they were ultimately beaten by Spain and finished runners-up.
Enzo Fernández, Martínez's compatriot, has been left out of the Chelsea squad for the second time in-a-row. The midfielder continues to be linked with a move away to Manchester City.

Earlier this month, Chelsea set a "deadline" for any bids for Fernández to arrive by but none came. However, Fernández misses out here again -- despite Alonso stating last week that his absence from the squad had "nothing to do" with Man City links.
