Fantasy baseball lineup advice for Sunday: Rays' Seymour tops streaming candidates

STARTING PITCHERS FOR SUNDAY

Pitchers are ranked in order of their Forecaster/Daily Notes projected fantasy points (FPTS), using ESPN's standard scoring system (2 points per win, minus-2 per loss, 3 per inning, 1 per K, minus-1 apiece per hit or walk allowed, minus-2 per earned run allowed).

T: The pitcher's handedness. OPP: Opposing team. RST%: The pitcher's roster percentage in ESPN leagues. W%: The individual starting pitcher's win probability using ESPN projections. IP: Projected innings pitched. H+BB: Projected hits plus walks allowed. ER: Projected earned runs allowed. K: Projected strikeouts.

If a team is planning on using an "opener" to start their game, but will rely on a "bulk pitcher" to follow him on the mound after 1-2 innings, the bulk pitcher is listed and indicated with an asterisk.

Pitchers to stream on Sunday

Ian Seymour is fresh off a dominating effort in Coors Field, where he held the Colorado Rockies to two runs over six innings while striking out nine. The Tampa Bay Rays lefty goes from an extreme hitting venue to an extreme pitching park when the Rays visit the Seattle Mariners. Seymour will face a lineup with the second-lowest wOBA versus left-handers, in part due to an above-average strikeout rate.
After four straight solid outings, Jared Jones sputtered last time out against the Milwaukee Brewers, allowing three runs on eight hits over just four frames. The righty should rebound when the Pittsburgh Pirates host the New York Mets. While the Mets have been more productive lately, even without Juan Soto, for the season they sport the lowest wOBA against right-handed pitching.
Michael McGreevy is best suited for fantasy teams needing to maintain a lead heading into the final day of the week in head-to-head leagues. That is, he provides more of a floor than a ceiling when the St. Louis Cardinals host the Rockies. He doesn't miss many bats, but McGreevy limits free passes and keeps the ball in the yard, especially at home in Busch Stadium. The Rockies offense is on the upswing, but they're still a below-average unit on the road with an elevated strikeout rate.

Pitchers to avoid on Sunday

Eduardo Rodriguez is coming off one of his worst outings of the season, surrendering five earned runs on 11 hits in 5 2/3 innings at home against the San Diego Padres. It was his second subpar performance over his last four games, as the luck he enjoyed for much of the season is waning. On Sunday, the Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers wrap up a series in the desert. The defending world champions are reeling, but they're still dangerous, and while Rodriguez's ERA is a tidy 2.71, his 4.54 xFIP and 4.82 SIERA are not as welcoming.

Hitters to stream on Sunday

The Cincinnati Reds have muscled up lately, as they lead the league in HR% since the All-Star break. They're striking out at an elevated clip, but their newfound pop should serve them well in what lines up to be a bullpen game for the Washington Nationals. It will be hot and humid in Nationals Park, setting up well for JJ Bleday, Tyler Stephenson, Eugenio Suarez, Dane Myers and Hector Rodriguez.
