The No. 1 prospects from the 2016 and 2017 classes will be joining forces on the USA Basketball U18 national team.
Lauren Cox, the No. 1 senior in the country and a Baylor recruit, and Megan Walker, the undeclared No. 1 junior in the country, were among 12 players named to the team that will compete at the FIBA Americas U18 championships July 13-17 in Valdivia, Chile.
The roster was announced Monday night after three days of trials in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Walker is one of five players in the 2017 class who made the team. She is joined by Evina Westbrook, Rellah Boothe, Sidney Cooks and Chennedy Carter. Boothe had started her weekend as a hopeful for the USA U17 team, which will be announced later this week.
In addition to Cox, six other players who are headed to college in the fall will spend part of the summer with Team USA, including Connecticut signee Crystal Dangerfield. Cox and Dangerfield won a gold medal together at the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship.
In addition to Cox and Dangerfield, the roster includes Jeannie Boehm (Harvard), Tyasha Harris (South Carolina), Ruthy Hebard (Oregon), Valerie Higgins (USC) and Amber Ramirez (TCU).
Team USA will be looking to defend its 2014 U18 gold medal.
