World Series odds: Dodgers open as 2027 favorites, just ahead of Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers celebrate after winning the 2026 World Series. What do the early odds say about them repeating? AP

The Milwaukee Brewers captured their elusive first World Series in club history and, while the landmark victory changed bookmakers' perception of the team, the Crew will still be chasing the Los Angeles Dodgers for the 2027 title, according to the odds. The Dodgers are favored to win next year's World Series with +310 odds, but the Brewers are not far behind at +500, followed by the New York Yankees at +700.

That's the consensus top three across the sportsbook marketplace, but there is some discrepancy after that. DraftKings has the Boston Red Sox next at 11-1, followed by the Philadelphia Phillies and Seattle Mariners at 18-1. BetMGM and Caesars Sportsbook both have the Atlanta Braves as their fourth team on the board, coming in at 13-1 and 16-1, respectively.

All the books have the Tampa Bay Rays outside the top six, with DraftKings posting them at 22-1. While that may seem long for the reigning American League champions, it's substantially better than the 80-1 World Series odds with which they came into the 2026 regular season.

Elsewhere, the Chicago White Sox, one of the surprise success stories of the season, are 30-1 to win the 2027 World Series, according to DraftKings odds, significantly better than the 500-1 with which they came into the 2026 campaign.

On the other hand, the San Francisco Giants, who were expected to be a dark-horse contender ahead of 2026, find themselves with 200-1 odds. The Colorado Rockies, once again, have the consensus longest odds to win the World Series, showing 500-1 at DraftKings.
