West Indies will return to Bangladesh for their first Test tour of the country in five years, when they arrive in October for a two-match series that forms part of the World Test Championship.
The first Test is scheduled for October 28 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, before the two teams head to Sylhet for the second Test from November 5.
West Indies will arrive in Dhaka on October 18, while Bangladesh will be away in the UAE, where they are scheduled to play an ODI tri-series involving Afghanistan and Zimbabwe. The visitors will play a three-day practice match against a local XI at the Basundhara Sports Complex from October 22 to 24.
The series will be significant for Bangladesh, who are fourth in the WTC table with 55.56 percentage points. Bangladesh will want to put up a good showing against West Indies, being one of the five teams who have a realistic chance of making the final.
West Indies will return to Bangladesh with good memories from their last tour. Kyle Mayers made an unbeaten 210 as they successfully chased 395 runs in the fourth innings. West Indies also won the second Test by 17 runs in Dhaka.
However, West Indies are currently in the eighth position on the WTC table with 20.83 points, having won just two out of their 12 matches. Bangladesh have done better in Tests in 2026, having beaten Pakistan 2-0 and drawn the two-match Test series against Australia.
