Toss West Indies opt to bowl vs England

West Indies won the toss and opted to bowl first on a roasting day at Lord's for their Women's T20 World Cup 2026 game against England.

West Indies were unchanged from the XI which beat Sri Lanka on Sunday, with captain Hayley Matthews saying that while the 34-degree Celsius heat was "pretty warm", her side would relish the conditions.

"It is pretty warm, but at the same time, we prefer it to be this temperature than a little colder," she said. "So conditions probably favour us."

England, who, as expected, were still without injured captain Nat Sciver-Brunt, also named an unchanged side to the one which defeated Scotland at Headingley on Saturday. They were again led by Charlie Dean, who said at the toss: "Captaincy is something you get into the routine of doing."

Both sides are looking for a fourth straight victory at the tournament, with the winner of this match guaranteed to reach the semi-finals.
