Toss Kolkata Knight Riders chose to bowl vs Delhi Capitals
Chasing the fourth playoffs spot, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and opted to bowl first against Delhi Capitals (DC) at Eden Gardens.
To qualify, KKR first need Mumbai Indians (MI) to beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the ongoing game at the Wankhede Stadium. And then, if they restrict DC to 180, they will have to chase it down in anywhere between 12 and 12.4 overs, depending on their final winning score.
With Angkrish Raghuvanshi out with a concussion and a finger injury, KKR continued with Tejasvi Dahiya.
Axar Patel said DC were looking to bowl first as well. "I won't say we played badly but we failed to capitalise on the chances we got," he said, reflecting on DC's season.
DC made two changes. Auqib Nabi came in for Mukesh Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav for T Vijay.
This pitch has hosted only one game this season: KKR's second game, where they lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad by 65 runs. The square boundaries are 61 metres and 68 metres. The straight boundary is 74 metres.
