Sri Lanka women 214 for 3 (Perera 95, Dulani 56, Marufa 2-49) beat Bangladesh women 213 for 8 (Sobhana 74, Nigar 40, Dilhari 3-48) by seven wickets
Hasini Perera's 95 powered Sri Lanka to a seven-wicket win over Bangladesh in Rajshahi, handing the visitors a 2-1 win in the ODI series. Hasini, who posted her highest ODI score, took control after captain Chamari Athapaththu fell early in their 214-run chase. The win completed Sri Lanka's series turnaround after they had lost the opening match.
She struck 13 fours in her 131-ball stay, adding 108 runs for the second wicket alongside Imesha Dulani. The partnership frustrated the Bangladesh bowlers, who were overjoyed when pacer Marufa Akter dismissed Athapaththu in the fifth over. Dulani made 56 off 79 balls with seven fours, before Hasini added another 78 runs with Harshitha Samarawickrama for the third wicket.
Hasini missed her century by just five runs when she fell to the part-timer Sobhana Mostary with nine runs remaining in the chase. Harshitha, who made an unbeaten 44, duly completed the job with Hansima Karunaratne at the other end.
When Bangladesh batted first, they lost three early wickets before Sobhana and captain Nigar Sultana added 65 runs for the fourth wicket. Sobhana made 74 off 80 balls with eight fours, batting till the last ball of the innings. She, however, got little support from the other end. Nigar made 40, while Ritu Moni contributed 20 batting at No. 8.
Kavisha Dilhari took three wickets while Nimasha Meepage picked up two wickets. Malki Madara and Athapaththu also had a wicket each.
The T20I series now begins on April 28 in Sylhet.
