9.45pm Right then, India start off with a commanding win. Improvements will be desired, but the points on the board are what matter right now, and the momentum that comes with that. That's all from us tonight. On behalf of Sudarshanan, Harshith and everyone else at Cricinfo, it's Abhimanyu signing off. Goodnight!

9.35pm Time for the presentation ceremony.

Harmanpreet Kaur: "It was a good start with the bat. Overall, it was a good game for us. [On the collapse] I think with the new ball, the ball was coming nicely but after that there was a bit of hold. our batters, we sometimes didn't play good shots, but also credit to Thailand for bowling in the areas where it wasn't easy to hit. They bowled well and we also didn't execute very well. All the teams playing in the Asia Cup have shown a lot of improvement so we can't take any team lightly. [On Shafali Verma and Deepti Sharma] Both of them are key players for us. Shafali is someone who gets crucial runs for us and has good rhythm and Deepti is someone with a lot of experience and today also she used that experience."

POTM, Shafali Verma: "In the starting i was just trying to place the ball in the gaps and after the new ball gets old, there was a bit of hold so I was just trying to get used to that. In the starting, the ball is coming nicely to the bat but then there was a bit of hold so I was just trying to play it late and hit it in the gaps. We are happy as a team and planning to go out there and give our all to the team. We did well so we are happy."

Thipatcha Putthawong: "Proud of how we performed overall. It was a good opportunity to play against a big team, something we don't get often. Next time, we'll come back harder. Felt that the second half of the innings with the ball was very good."

9.30pm A 94-run win is as good a way as India would have wanted to start their campaign, as their bowlers came through to outclass Thailand, whose efforts with ball in hand could not be matched by their batters. Shafali Verma was the one who laid the base for India's 159, before the rest of the team collapsed. They still got more than enough after being asked to bat, with the bowlers cleaning Thailand up in just over 16 balls. The two Sharmas -- Deepti and Nandani -- picked up three wickets apiece, while Shree Charani claimed two. Nannapat Koncharoenka was stubborn at the crease for her 41 off 48, but was the only Thai batter to get into double-digits. India will want to improve upon their batting display, of course, but a win is a win, and they will want to now carry on their winning momentum.

DB Sharma to Koncharoenkai, OUT, Seven balls, three wickets and no run conceded and Deepti Sharma is once again the leading wicket-taker in Women's T20Is, and India begin their campaign with a thumping victory! Tossed up on a length outside off and it spins in sharply to cramp Nannapat, who was looking back away to cut. It hits the outside edge high on the bat and lobs up to her right. Ghosh runs to her right and dives with an outstretched right arm and the ball settles in her gloves. India had a mini-scare with the bat, but the bowling display has been absolutely professional!

Gaud to Koncharoenkai, OUT, Direct hit, and Thailand lose three wickets in three balls. On a length around off and Nannapat backs away to loft it down the ground. Can only get it to mid-on on the bounce, where Mandhana gets to the ball and sees both batters stranded in the middle of the pitch due to a mix-up and easily throws down the stumps at the non-striker's end. They are now just checking who is the batter out. Nannapat wanted the single, but the new batter Onnicha didn't start off immediately. By the time Onnicha started running, Nannapat stopped and was ready to run back, ending up with both of them very close to each other when Mandhana nailed her throw. Looks like Onnicha is the one who is out. And indeed, that's the decision by the third umpire. Diamond duck for Onnicha, and Mandhana after being out thanks to a direct hit, effects a nice direct hit of her own
