5:59pm That will be all from us for this game. But the events in Bristol mean that this game has gained greater relevance. We hope you enjoyed our coverage and until next time, from all of us here at Cricinfo, it is goodbye!
Gaby Lewis, Ireland captain: Absolutely delighted - so proud of the girls. Some heavy losses (this tournament), but we just have to dust ourselves and the girls did that amazingly. We knew it was reachable with the batting order we have, and we have some world-class players. Just wanted to play positive cricket and the girls did that today. If you look back at what we have done, there have been defeats but also some really positive periods. Kept around each other. This is such a close group, which helps as well. So happy with today.
Hayley Matthews, West Indies captain: (Where it went wrong) With the bat, had a decent powerplay but were not able to keep runs flowing throughout the innings. Not getting on top of the bowlers early in the over and had to play catch-up. Execution (with the ball). Few mistakes in the field as well. Still figuring out, and not been able to capitalize on the powerplay. Some of it is due to me as well - not being in the best form. And with Deandra not being in the best shape as well, with us being crucial batters, we need to do well. If we get to the semis, we will hold our head up (and go for it). If we get to the semis, it will be a case of it being meant to be. We have not been at our best throughout, and we need to turn up. The pain we are feeling now...we need to channel it and ensure we don't feel that way again. We had no one in our innings who went deep (unlike Prendergast). Hopefully she (Henry) will be good for the semis. Always fighting with injuries but hopefully we can get her up and running.
Orla Prendergast, Player of the Match: (Emotions right now) Just means so much. We have had the belief throughout but it had not come together just yet. Just so much relief to have that win and so much happiness. (On if they learned from the NZ game) Just a different tempo of the chase. Different games, different conditions, glad it came off (today). (Partnership with Hunter) We did not talk a whole lot. Just kept the partnership going. Run-rate was not an issue, so knew we had to put pressure on the opposition. Probably our best fielding performance today. Everyone stands up on different days (and that shone today). We feel their (the fans) support, they really make a difference.
5:40pm What a day for Irish cricket. A red-letter day, and one that they will remember forever. And what a run-chase too, and it was fitting that it was masterminded by arguably their MVP, Prendergast. She walked in when Ireland were yet to race out of the traps, but she shepherded the innings beautifully, while also ensuring they never fell behind the rate. She could not finish off the job, but Stokell and Little did enough at the end to ensure this now becomes a momentous occasion for a team that has given it all at this tournament and finally has something to show for it.
A tough day for the West Indies. They knew what they needed to qualify but they have now left it to fate. Their batters could not get going, and their bowlers were not incisive enough to put pressure on Ireland. They can still qualify but if they fail to, they will look back at this as a massive missed opportunity.
Hunter: Just so excited. To get over the line is unbelievable. Unbelievable out there, was trying to get her on strike all the time. A little bit nervous but the middle order (did their job). There have been a few lows along the way but as a group, we have been resilient. Credit to the supporters, they have been unbelievable. Thankfully got the win for them today. We managed to do that (get partnerships) today. Gaby has been unbelievable, she has held the batting together (throughout the tournament).
Just four needed now, and Ireland on the brink of history
Matthew: "My nerves absolutely shredded here, cannot stand the tension as NZ are grimly hanging on!"

Both teams made a change that alters the team balance
West Indies have a lot to play for but pride, progress and proof of potential drive the other three teams in Bristol
