24.1 a run out with lunch under 10 minutes far and Easwaran is run out! A very late call from Mohan to send Easwaran back and he won't be happy with that. There was turn and bounce, Easwaran steered the ball to point and took off. Mohan took a few steps down too before realising the fielder had swooped in quickly and he sent Easwaran back, who was nearly halfway down the pitch and his turn back hardly made a difference. Easwaran doesn't even look back at Mohan and continues his march to the dressing room 133/2
14.4 taken at deep midwicket, that's the big wicket of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi! That must be a relief for South Zone. Not too fast at 129kmh, but it's a short ball which South hardly bowled this morning to him, and Sooryavanshi miscues his pull high into the clear sky on the leg side where deep midwicket runs in to get under the ball just in time 100/1

52.2 Milind gets rewarded for his short balls and he removes the well-set Shikhar Mohan! It may not be as spectacular as bouncing someone out, but Milind will take it. Short ball just outside off, Mohan pivots to turn the ball to leg but his soft hands only result in him chopping on. He hangs his head back in disappointment for the slow walk back on 85 241/4
30.6 didn't get a wicket earlier in the over to the lbw, but is rewarded for his flight and guile. Gharami has played a reckless stroke and perishes. Stepped out to go down down but is deceived in flight and he ends up dragging this lofted hit to mid-on. 147/3
162.2 steps out and swings through the line, only for this to be superbly intercepted by the long-on fielder, R Smaran. Kishan wanted to hit it straighter but didn't get the elevation he would've liked. It ended up being a flat hit as Smaran moving to his right took the catch on the move. Kishan walks off to a standing ovation. 708/9
100.1 That's 100 overs up. And the 101st starts with a wicket. Short-ish ball on leg and Kushagra tries to pull off the back foot. But he's mistimed this one, and it has taken the top-edge to Milind at fine leg. Kushagra is so disappointed and Vijay gets a wicket off a half-tracker. Top innings though - with eight fours and five sixes in 132 balls 471/5
134.1 fullish ball on middle and leg. Tries the flick. Misses. Hits the pad. LBW appeal turned down. They review. Is this going to hit the stumps? We'll find out. Replay says this is hitting leg stump plumb, so Anukul will be out on 45 626/6
157.4 steps out and belts this straight down Siraj's throat at long-on. Superbly taken diving forward. Quraishi wanted to hit it a lot straighter but because he didn't get under the length, he ended up dragging this to the long-on fielder. 698/8
150.3 finally a wicket for Shreyas Gopal! And it's a googly. Flighted full ball outside off, turning in and Shami tries the drive. Big gap between bat and body 680/7

162.6 hit back hard to Vijay who takes an excellent return catch on his followthrough. East have been bowled out off the last ball of today's play. Vijay finishes with four wickets. What East being bowled out means is South will have the option of choosing the roller - they'll opt for a light roller in all probability. 708/10

5.2 130.2kmh, massive appeal for caught behind down the leg side! The umpire shakes his head as the appeal gets louder and Kishan goes for the review after consulting his keeper and fielders. Remember, he's not keeping today and someone said "le lo, le lo (take it, take it)". The length delivery zipped down leg just past the bat and pad, let's see if it clipped something on the way. UltraEdge shows a "clear spike," the third umpire notes and their go the celebrations! He also wants to check the completion of the catch and that's clean from Kumar Kushagra, no more replays required 10/1
18.4 poor stroke and Jagadeesan will be livid for having wasted his start. Reaches out to flay this away from the body, but the ball spun away and he ended up slicing this to Easwaran at backward point. Mohan was brought on only because Anukul isn't on the field after copping a finger injury, but he now has his maiden first-class wicket. 70/2
35.3 a majestic flick but straight to deep square leg! What a soft dismissal off an innocuous delivery and a disappointed Padikkal shakes his head on the walk back after putting his left hand on the helmet in disbelief. He shaped up nicely for the ball angling in and flicked it in the air as if there was nobody there but the fielder in the deep hardly moved to pouch it. Padikkal knew instantly what he had done 129/4
33.5 134.8kmh, one of the quicker deliveries from Shami today leads to a loud appeal and gets a wicket too! He zipped it in to trap Rasheed in front of middle and leg, it nipped in off the seam, the appeal for lbw followed and up went the finger. Rasheed planted his front leg in front only an inch or two and was beaten by the inward movement, doesn't opt for the review 126/3
107.3 Tilak goes for 99! His patience runs out and Quraishi reaps his rewards. Tilak's first dismissal in any form of cricket since July 11. Tossed up full on off. Nicely lobbed up as well. Tilak could not resist the drive and hits it right back at the bowler who does no mistake. A fantastic innings from Tilak but no century to show. More importantly, South concede a 372-run lead 336/10
53.4 that is an absolute peach! Smaran beaten on the drive as Shami gets this move away a wee bit. They think about a review and take it belatedly. Original decision is not out, and but that will have to be overturned, because snicko shows a very, very thin spike as ball passed the bat. Smaran is bitterly disappointed but has to go. Inspired captaincy from Sooryavanshi to bring Shami back, he has struck in his first over of this short spell. Sooryavanshi wasn't keen on the review, but Kushagra implored his stand-in skipper to go for it, pretty sure a treat is in order. 174/5
79.2 there goes the wicketless session! Quraishi has struck with a return catch. Teasing length outside off, Gopal falls for it with a drive but the turn takes the inside half of the bat and Quraishi completes the flat catch with both hands around his knee height 240/6
98.3 Sharp catch! Superb stuff and that is the end of the 78-run partnership. Floated up outside off, full in length. Milind goes for the push-drive through the off side but gets a thick inside edge. Gharami takes a sharp catch at bat-pad on the leg side and it's a big break for East 318/7
101.6 A calamitous mix-up! Tripurana is toast. A length ball spinniing away outside off with an extra bounce. Tilak goes back to cut towards the man at 45. He takes off with the shot, only later realises that the non-striker is not on the same page. Halfway through the run Tilak knows he has erred in his judgement. Easy run-out and Tripurana is easily short. Sharp throw from the fielder, who was really stationed in the arc between short third and backward point 322/8
106.3 strikes with a full delivery! Siraj plays all around his front pad to one that angles in full and straight. You-miss-I-hit stuff. Siraj reviews and I'm not sure why, because that is as plumb as it can get. Tilak is on 99 at the other end with the No. 11 walking in. 336/9

5.1 poor stroke from Sooryavanshi! He rushes down the pitch looking to wallop that but is completely foxed in the air and sees this spin across sharply as Jagadeesan effects the simplest of stumps. 13/2
4.4 edged and taken! Commentator's curse or what? Easwaran gets an absolute pearl from Siraj. Angles in from outside off and holds its line to square Easwaran as he plays with hard hands and that is an excellent catch by Padikkal, diving low to his left at slip. 13/1
37.1 pinned on the pad and he's plumb in front! Mohan makes the mistake of playing back to a full delivery, but gets beaten on the inside edge as it spins back in sharply. He reviews in vain with replays showing the ball would've smashed into leg stump. Straightforward call for umpire Virender Sharma. 154/4
33.3 Straight up! Catching practice for fine gully. Kishan has been deceived by another slower one. Short and angling into him, 115.1kph. He backs away and looks to heave it across the line. Only skies it high for Padikkal to do the rest. No century to follow his double from the first dig. South managed to keep him quiet - he scored just 3 in his last 21 balls - and reaped rewards 139/3
59.3 Kushagra has thrown his wicket away here! Not much celebration from the bowler though. Was speared in quite full and outside off, Kushagra loses his patience and goes for a nothingburger drive, no need to chase after this. Thick edge to the keeper, he has to walk back four short of his fifty 238/6
39.4 a nightmarish game ends in a. run out for Gharami! He wanted the second but Kushagra wasn't keen. Unfortunately for Gharami, even though the keeper took a while to break the bails after collecting the throw on the bounce, his bat was just in the air despite the dive. The third umpire needed to have a look at multiple replays to give him the benefit of doubt, but replays established it beyond doubt that no part of his bat was inside the crease. 160/5

98.4 sensational catch at slip by Padikkal! Anukul can't resist the temptation to poke at that, the ball skids through of a length and nips away a wee bit. The edge absolutely flew off the blade but Padikkal anticipated it nice and early as he moved swiftly to his left to pluck that. Superb innings from Anukul - some of the most pressure-free batting he'd have experienced yet. 388/7
