9:15pm: The rain has stopped, the covers have been peeled back, and now the Super Sopper is drifting across the ground, soaking up the remaining moisture

9pm: Oh-oh, it was pretty clear before, but the clouds came barging in uninvited. It's raining now and we have a delay

The innings was highlighted by a pitch-perfect, sublime ton from Saim Ayub, who played shots all around the park; straight lofted drives, no-look shots towards the square-leg region, and some lovely drives and sweeps. He didn't put a foot wrong. On a bowling-friendly pitch that offered movement early on, Ayub was the standout, with no other innings of real note. Keemo Paul did well towards the end, providing the impetus with a 13-ball 25, while Rovman Powell chipped in as well. Naseem Shah wreaked havoc with the new ball, Wanindu Hasaranga was very tidy and picked up a couple of wickets, while Obed McCoy got two as well but leaked over 10 runs an over.

W
Holder to Paul, 1 wide, OUT, Gathers pace, jumps at aims for a yorker, went down for a ramp or a scoop and just brushed it to the keeper, Smith just left and the striker didn't even leave his crease and remained stationary in the crouched position, easy run out for Holder
