Moeen Ali: "[How would you rate this win?] Yeah, I think it's our best one. I asked the guys - I know we had qualified, but I really wanted that top two. I wanted us to show everyone that Guyana can be beaten. They are a brilliant side, very well balanced, and formidable at home, so it's pleasing to come here and win. [Jangoo's struggle in the middle phase] Actually, I think he's done a good job overall because we aren't an explosive side throughout, though we can be right at the end. He lays the foundation for us, and we've been lucky enough to come good. Obviously, we would like a few more runs - we don't want to be only five down at the end of 20 overs; we want to be seven or eight down after having a real go. But we are playing really well at the back end in particular. It's a tough place to bat at times, so it was still a nice foundation. It's pleasing, but we can get better.

[All-seam attack in the powerplay] I know they were off to a flier, but the wicket, especially bowling from that end, was a bit lower. There wasn't much grass from that end, and you always felt you could get Gurbaz out. I didn't want to bowl spin to Gurbaz in the powerplay because he plays spin really well. If I had to, I would have, but luckily we got him out and then managed to get Shai Hope as well, which was a massive wicket. We just kept going, and I knew I had spinners for the middle overs so I didn't have to overdo spin on that wicket. [Is this the best bowling attack this season?] It's a very good attack, but we're still learning. We have guys who struggled initially, but yeah, it's a solid unit. I don't want to explicitly say the best attack; it'll be the best if we win the tournament! But it's very versatile: three or four seamers, two wrist-spinners, and finger-spinners. It's nice to have options."

Imran Tahir: "I think our last few overs went for a few runs in the death, which can happen to anyone. We've been a very consistent team, so it's almost good to have a taste of that. But yeah, we need to reflect and come back strongly tomorrow because we don't have much time. [An attempt to get Shepherd into form in the death overs?] No, it wasn't. He's one of our senior bowlers. Between him and Pretorius, we felt Sheppy had more experience with his cutters and variations for those conditions. That's why I gave him the ball instead of Pretorius. Unfortunately, as I said, it went against us. That over could have gone anywhere - he could have picked up two or three wickets, and that catch drop by Shamar Joseph could have kept them to 20 or 30 fewer runs. It was just a bad night for us, but we need to come back strongly tomorrow.

[What would you say to your batters after a chase like this?] Yeah, look, it was pretty simple. We had a great start, around 82 off seven overs, if I'm not wrong, and from there we just needed to bat around Nabi or whoever was set, taking it deep into the 17th over like the opposition did. We need to reflect on where we can improve, but that's the main takeaway for me: one of our top four batters needs to stay out there until the 15th over. I'm pretty sure we still have a good thing going, and this was just one of those games. I don't need to blame anyone."

Player of the Match, Shadab Khan: "[Batting mindset] Because where I bat, it's mostly that type of situation where you go out and try to maximize the innings. Sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't, because that's the hardest part of batting at that position - when it works you look good, and when it doesn't you look bad. But I had a positive mindset and tried to target specific bowlers, knowing who I could hit and where I wanted to hit them. That was the plan. [Thinking about an earlier entry point?] I think it depends on where the team needs me. They set the platform, and I try to perform in that role. Wherever the team needs me, I give 100%.

[Bowling] I try not to do anything too fancy. I just try to bowl in good areas, especially since the pitch was on the lower side and offering some help. It was about sticking to good areas, keeping it simple, and landing the ball where I wanted. [Fourth largest defeat for the Warriors] These types of wins always boost you as a player and as a team, because Guyana is one of the best sides in the CPL, as their record shows. Beating a team like this gives everyone a real lift. Hopefully, we can carry this momentum with us into the playoffs."
