Scorer: K Vairavan | Commentator: Ahsan Iftikhar Nagi

And, that concludes our coverage of this match. Goodbye and goodnight!

Nuzair Zia: "Ahsan bhai, should we bring out the apology forms for Babar or not yet? :P" -- You definitely should

Satisfied with the win: Babar Azam

"You are always satisfied when you win," says the Pakistan captain. "But the most important thing was that we executed our plans whether it was how Abdullah Shafique batted in the first innings or how the spinners bowled in the second. We had been preparing for this series for the last three months with a red ball camp at the NCA in Lahore.

"When we saw the pitch it looked more similar to how we have in Pakistan. So, we decided to play an additional spinner and it had an impact on our combinations because of which we had to leave out our senior players.

"My finger is a bit sore [after the blow] but it is fine. Just a bit of a bruising."

Could've gone in with an extra spinner: Roston Chase

"It is obviously disappointing [to lose this match]," the West Indies captain says after the match. "We wanted to win this series 2-0 or even try to get this match ended in a draw. I think we could have probably gone in with an extra spinner. I underestimated my injury [on the index finger] and thought I would be able to bowl a bit more than I did. There was a bit much pain when I bowled because of which I could not go any further.

"I wouldn't say our second innings batting is a concern. Obviously, you need to score big in the first innings and then as the pitch deteriorates the scores come down. I think we could have done better in terms of negotiating the spin and putting up a total with which we could have given our bowlers a chance.

"We have played really good cricket in the last two series and we are improving and going into the direction that I want us to go. But we are disappointed with the result. We wanted to win these series and make our home a fortress, but it is what it is. We have to learn and further improve."

Greaves: The most satisfying thing for me was that when things got tricky I was able to put my hand up in the first and this game. But, I was a bit unlucky that I could not bowl and help the team out [in the last innings]. I will be back to full fitness in a couple of days. I don't think we could have batted differently today with the ball turning and staying low but credit to the Pakistan bowlers as I think they bowled pretty well at us.

Player of the series award is shared between Justin Greaves and Babar Azam

Abdullah Shafique is the player of the match: This comeback match felt like a debut for me. I had been working hard for the last one year and was waiting for my opportunity. It came at an unexpected time but I grabbed it with both hands. I have played for Pakistan and have the experience under the my belt. I have not been able to get opportunities recently, and that happens sometime. But as a professional you have to work towards a comeback and give your best.

Pakistan win the second Test by eight wickets to level the two-match series 1-1. West Indies, who last beat Pakistan in a Test series back in 2000, came into this Test favourites to sweep Pakistan, but the visitors made sure that they take full advantage of the subcontinent-like conditions.

Anon: "Have to wonder if this is Roach's last Test. WI are going to BD next, and he likely won't play or even go. Next home series he'll be 39. Not sure if he'll be around then. He was celebrated when he crossed 300 wickets, but this would be a disappointing farewell given his limited role this match."

Deo: "It always bothers me when fast bowling is your strength and preparing spinners paradise for pitches. To add grievances to that WI only played 1 frontline spinner. Will never see this in Australia or England. Good to see Pakistan rebound and win this game."

Talha: "So satisfying to see Baber finishing the job with 2 sixes"

It was a smooth chase in the end after a few initial hiccups. There had to be a few of them as there is no such thing as a smooth Pakistan win regardless of how slim the target.

Pakistan win their first Test away from home. It has taken them three long years and they do so under Babar Azam, the same man under whose leadership they had won the last time back in July 2023. There have been myriad changes of coaches and selectors, and Babar quit Pakistan's captaincy twice in between. But in the end, it is the combination of him and Sarfaraz Ahmed as the captain and coach which has delivered the result.

Warrican to Babar Azam, SIX, Charges down the ground and finishes it off with a classical six over long off. It was lobbed at length outside off and Babar launched it out of the park.

Warrican to Babar Azam, SIX, Rocks back and slaps it over long on for a hugeeee six! Bowls a half-tracker outside off giving all the time in the world to Babar to launch it down the ground

Warrican to Babar Azam, no run, Advances down the pitch and gets hit on his front pad. Big appeal for LBW by Warrican and the umpire turns it down. There is some consultation amongst the bowling side and Chase sends it upstairs. Landed it on length outside off and it was angling into stumps. It hit his pad first which was ahead his bat. Saved by the umpire's call on impact as he was 3 meters down. It would have smashed into the middle stump.
