8.45pm: Phew, what a game! Time for the presentations... starting with England captain Harry Brook: "Outstanding game, a lot of fun to be a part of. So many areas we could look back on and dwell on but that's not what this team does. We go back to the drawing board for The Oval. Thought we put up a good fight with the ball, they got off to a decent start. To pull it back to 320 and a chance to chase that down was a good effort. [Rehan Ahmed] He bowled nicely, we've asked him to keep the stumps in play as much as possible. [Chase] The lads got off to a flyer, the way Bants and Ducky played, you couldn't ask for more. The middle we stalled a bit, but the fight we showed, and the way that Jose [Buttler] came back out, it was brilliant. [Decider at Oval] You always want to win games but it's a great opportunity, in pressure situations you see where you are as a team."
Sri Lanka's captain Kusal Mendis is Player of the Match: "Very happy with how my team played. We started really well and the middle order batted really well. [Partnership with Kamindu] Very happy, talking to him about the game plan: nothing special, basic cricket. Was very happy with 320, we wanted more than 300 on this pitch. [Wellalage contribution] Wella bowled really well, the whole team, after the powerplay. Guys gave 100% and I'm very happy. [Sunday] Today is finished and now we have to focus on the next game and do the basics right."
Right, that's it for tonight. Madushka's report will tell you everything you need to know, and we'll be back for more on Sunday. Thanks for your comments, from myself, Miller and Thilak, it's goodnight. Bye!
8.35pm: Kusal Mendis is shaking hands with all of his players, SL are finally on the board for this tour! The captain led the way with the bat, a brilliant 82-ball hundred ensuring they had the platform for a big score; Dunith Wellalage then cracked England's chase open after they had stomped along to 143 without loss in 20 overs. Jos Buttler's injury was also key, as England were on top of the rate while he was going. But Sri Lanka bowled superbly at the death, closing down the boundary options as Will Jacks tried in vain to get England over the line. That's a fourth straight ODI defeat at Headingley for them - but it sets things up nicely for Sunday at The Oval
