And on that note, it's wrap from here. Vish's report should be up, we'll back for the final game on Saturday. That's a day game remember. Until then, on behalf of Matt and the rest of the team, this is Madushka signing out.
Harry Brook: [Highlight in these two games?] Tonight was a special performance, it was very clinical. They got off to a good start, but the way we dragged it back in the second half was outstanding. Jammo [Overton] bowling four overs straight through was never an easy task, and then Liam Dawson obviously the way that he reads the game is outstanding. [Three seamers?] We looked at the stats and it said that spin played a decent part on this pitch, but we knew it was going to be quite a bit of bounce as well, hence why we went with two taller bowlers and one a bit skiddier. And they all bowled really well. And Bants there to finish it off was really nice to see, exceptional how he hits different parts of the ground. [Buttler 15000 runs?] Ridiculous stat, that. He's been phenomenal for 15 years, he's a man that you want by your side and it's nice to have him in the changing room still. [What more to see from the team?] Just adapting to conditions, something we talk about a lot and we're getting a hell of a lot better at it."
Charith Asalanka: "Disappointed about the performances. We were in the game in the powerplay at the start, but disappointing to lose wickets at regular intervals. I don't think we played our cricket, good shots. At the same time they were just too good. [Next match?] As a T20 team we need to improve a lot honestly, we're not up to the mark. That's why we're 9th in the rankings."
Player of the Match goes to Liam Dawson for his 3 for 32: "[Key to first to games] Keep it simple, just bowling good lines and lengths. [Role?] I'm probably more the defensive option, but Jacksy comes in the powerplay sometimes as well, so it's very varied. And today I was the attacking one. So we got all bases covered, which is good. [adapt to conditions?] Here it's a big square, so just bowling into the wicket. Good win in the end. [Manchester good for spin, any change for you?] No just keep it simple, keep to good lines and lengths. Do that well and hopefully we'll do well."
Time for the post-match presentation...
9.25pm So as expected, England make easy work of this chase, running down Sri Lanka's below par effort with minimum fuss. Tom Banton's unbeaten 52 led the way, but there were several speedy cameos from Buttler, Donald and Brook to help break the spine of the chase. The damage however was done with the ball, as Sri Lanka crashed from 55 for no loss to 145 for 9. It was only in the first five overs of the powerplay that Sri Lanka looked like they might offer a challenge, but once Dawson struck twice in the sixth over the innings gradually fell apart. And in the end it was another disheartening loss for the visitors, extending their T20 losing streak against England to 14 matches.
