Our Player of the Match, of course, is Ellyse Perry: "Yeah, nice to finish on a high. I thought we bowled especially well today. Yeah, look, I can't fault our effort the whole way through this tournament. Like, we've given it absolutely everything we can. It just hasn't come off on the field, for the most part... Just seemed to hold up a bit for the spinners. I thought Brett coming to the side today bowled especially well, along with Alana King, who's been great for us all season. So I think we kind of got a blueprint from watching that, and then it was nice to go out and chase it down.[On Fatima Sana's knock from the other end] Yeah, she's a world-class player. It's been wonderful to play with her this season. The first time I've got a chance to do that in franchise cricket. She hits a clean ball with the bat. She's obviously a handy bowler up front for us as well. So it's been great to see her come along, and hopefully she's really enjoyed it., executing when you need to under pressure. And yeah, this season, it just hasn't worked out for us. But as I said, the effort's been there the whole time and no one's put their head down... I actually popped home in between the World Cup and, and this, so, it's been nice to come back. It's been a wonderful summer. The weather's been great. The crowd's been amazing. I think women's cricket has absolutely shone in England over summer, so it's been a huge privilege to be a part of that. I'm gonna head home. Our summer starts pretty soon, so that'll be nice too."

5.40pm Ellyse Perry was just too good today, as she often is in this sport. Was a tricky pitch, surely, but her unbeaten fifty was by far the difference between the two sides today. If it's any consolation, Phoenix end only second last on the table. Their celebrations are muted, and the camraderie between the two sides far more evident. You love it when the sport brings a smile to faces, even if it's because of the spirit of the game here, rather than a decisive result in the context of this competition!
