5:49pm What a game! Brave fielders rush to congratulate Bell after that final ball even as the TV umpire runs a check for the no-ball for height. It is all fair, and Brave have an 11th win on the trot. They have pulled this one by the skin of their teeth. They had lost the plot at the back end of the batting innings. Thankfully for them, it did not come back to bite them.
They will consider this as a massive jailbreak, simply because Wyatt-Hodge is quite unmatched when it comes to run-chases. Not often does she stay unbeaten in a chase while her team doesn't cross the line. Today, she hardly got strike inside the powerplay. Yet she managed to find her next gear in the second half of the chase. At one point, it seemed she had perfectly paced her knock. But it wasn't to be as MIL continue to wait for their first win.
Jemimah Rodrigues, Player of the Match: "This team has great belief. What sets us apart is the calmness. We kept believeing. Said one wicket can turn things. It was a tricky wicket. If you hit good lengths, tough to hit boundaries. I know I am standing here, but one of our bowlers should have got it, they bowled really well. [On her dropped catch] I reached there and thought I had got it, but it slipped out in the last minute."
Did the decision to send Armitage at one-drop prove costly? Should they have sent Carey instead of Henry after the second wicket? Were they too cautious to start the chase? Questions galore after MIL bottled up an equation of 18 off 15 at the death. That's all we have from this encounter in Southampton. But there's more to come from the Hundred. Winless Southern Brave's men, searching for their first win, take on MI London. You can hop over there. Till the next time, ciao, take care!
Four needed off one...
Carey has finished games for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the last year or so...
8 off 5! Wow. MIL would think they shouldn't lose from here. Brave would think this is still their game... Bell to bowl. No Super Fives, remember. A tie will result in points shared
