5:41pm That will be all from us for this game. But there is another game lined up in the men's comp, and that will begin in less than an hour from now. Until next time, from Ranjith, Thilak and myself (Shashwat), it is goodbye!

Sophie Molineux, Player of the Match: The girls were brilliant today - we were never really out of it. Nice feeling to get a close win early. Nice to get back out here and play in front of the home fans. Have heard they (the Brave fans) always turn out in massive numbers and today was no different. (Message during Kemp-Voll partnership) Just to hang in there. They were batting well, but they were going hard, so we knew chances were coming. Glenn's spell was really good and for Tilly to do that at the back end, it was awesome. (On the dropped catches) Hopefully we have gotten them out of the way. It happens. It is not a technical thing, about getting back into the swing of things. (On the buzz around this season) Loved it. Definitely been a vibrant atmosphere. It always is but feel it has picked up a notch. Southern Brave have been amazing. Looking forward to watching the boys and hopefully we can get two out of two today.

5:35pm Wow. What a turnaround. The Welsh Fire had the win in the palm of their hands, especially when Voll and Kemp were at the crease. They still had it under control when Wareham was out in the middle alongside Voll. But then, things unraveled and they unraveled rather dramatically for them. They kept losing wickets and the Brave's strong bowling attack squeezed the life out of what was a routine run-chase.

Each of the hosts' bowlers played their part, picking up wickets when their team needed them to. And all of that means that the Southern Brave, despite seemingly being second-best for much of this game, begin their campaign with two points.

Corteen-Coleman to Smale, 1 run, there it is! The Southern Brave snatch an opening-game win away from the Welsh Fire! Back of a length on the stumps. Smale punches it feebly down the ground, and that brings to an end one of the more extraordinary games of cricket in this comp. How have the Welsh Fire lost this game from where they were? Well, perhaps only they will know!

Corteen-Coleman to Smale, 2 runs, fullish on middle and leg. Smale charges down the track and lifts it over mid off. Not enough juice to get to the fence, though

Corteen-Coleman to Smale, no run, back of a length on middle and leg. Not much room on offer and Smale jabs it towards extra cover

Corteen-Coleman to Graham, OUT, leg stump knocked back, and that should be that for the Welsh Fire! This is brave and beautiful bowling. Tossed up on a length just outside leg. Graham backs away, trying to go downtown. The ball, though, dips on her late and then grips. Spins away enough to beat the bat and thud into the top of leg stump!

Manoj: "Template never changed for Welsh fire season after season. How can you fumble this badly? "

Corteen-Coleman to Southby, 1 run, length on middle and off. Southby has a swing at it and squirts it off the inside edge towards short fine leg

Molineux to Holland, OUT, wicket number three for Molineux, and the Brave can sense a win now! Looped up on middle and leg. Holland advances, takes it on the full but fails to do anything substantial with it. A gentle chip to Bell at mid off, and the Welsh Fire are now seven down, and staring down the barrel!
