2:02pm A commanding eight-wicket win takes Rockets past that mid-table jogjam. And a fine return to action for England captain Sciver-Brunt, too. Fire's inability to find that next gear with the bat did prove costly eventually. Mooney reduced the chase to a trickle by the time she was dismissed. She was as authoritative as ever while not being overtly innovative. And then Sciver-Brunt applied the finishing touches with aplomb. Early in the season, but Fire will be forced to take a hard look at their top-order. They are not getting the momentuem they'd want. And with Bryce waiting in the wings, along with the fact that she knows these conditions quite well, a change maybe imminent

Beth Mooney, Player of the Match: "A good all-round performance. Was a par total, happy with it. Thought we went well till 50 balls. Devine-Kemp's partnership took it away at the back end. One good partnership was what we needed. Good to break the back of the chase like that early. We were able to do that in the first 25 balls, got a bit lucky too. The Welsh bowlers had good plans. But if you get a boundary away early in the set, it is tough to come back. Important to get early wins because it comes thick and fast."

Nat Sciver-Brunt: "Calf is good, thanks. I try to be consistent. You are gonna have highs and lows. If you prepare in the way you know best for yourself, that works. Part of having experience is you know how to deal with the highs and lows. Women's cricket, you get to play everybody around the world. Have played with Ash, Beth, Kim before. Trying to learn from people who do their skills well. Try to pick up things along the way. [Bowling?] I do still want to bowl. Enjoy being part of the game in all three skills. That is the plan. Will have rehab after this tournament to ensure calf injury doesn't stick around for more than necessary. I still have the drive, still love playing. Don't want to give up bowling. [The sweep shot] Depends on deep square is square or fine. That's my strength. I go to that when I want a boundary. I use the angles. When the teams move the fielder squarer, the gap becomes bigger. Try and use different methods to get there. I want to get my head over the knee. When you get too close, it becomes a harder shot to play. Batting is about calculating risks. [Play all games?] Can't promise you that. We'll see how it goes. Scheduling is condense. So next game we have three games, which seems a stretch for me at this point. Circumstances this summer are very different for me. Love competing and taking part in the game. Hard to miss out but needs to do what works for me."
