5pm That will be all from us for this game. The game from the men's comp is still to come, although the early finish means there is a bit more time before the first ball. Until next time, from Ranjith and myself (Shashwat), it is goodbye!

Ryana MacDonald Gay, Player of the Match: Really happy with how it went. Bowlers at the top set things up. Coming in, sticking to my plans - it worked really well. We really nailed the basics and did really well. (On her form coming into the tournament) I felt in pretty good rhythm. We had some really good prep. Coming into this game, we were clear and wanted to execute our basics. (On a new team) It has been amazing. Love the change of scenery. The group is amazing. To be at Old Trafford is amazing - cannot wait to see what energy that brings.

4:55pm Bruising and clinical. MSG did not have many to get but they did not make heavy weather of this run-chase. Lanning and Mandhana found the fence regularly enough in the powerplay to not let the pressure build. Scholfield and Ghosh then played cameos towards the end to ensure that MSG begin their campaign with a nice NRR-boosting win.

A day to forget for the hosts. Their batting was ordinary, and their bowling did not fare much better. Kapp did provide evidence of what she remains capable of but support was not very forthcoming.

Groves to Scholfield, SIX, thumped out of sight, and MSG canter to a win! Back of a length on middle and off. Scholfield marches down the track and clatters it over deep mid wicket. A fitting way to end a comprehensive run-chase and a comprehensive win!
