Dani Gibson: "I think it was a great start for us. Glad that we were able to get out there as a team with the ball. I think we bowled really well, kept our lines, and adapted to what the pitch was doing. It was a bit uneven; bouncing quite a lot sometimes, and sometimes keeping low. But I think we bowled really well, fielded, backed up our bowlers, and then obviously with the bat, just finished it off nicely. [You haven't done a whole lot of captaincy] No, I haven't. It was fun. I really enjoyed it. I've got such a great group around me to help me out. I've got Bowsy as my vice, so I've got so many people to bounce ideas off. I really enjoyed it, and I'm excited for a good competition ahead. [Balance in the squad] I think obviously sometimes there can be too many chefs, but today was a great balance. I've got JJ, who's got so much experience, Crossy, and Loz behind the stumps helping manage the fielders and the angles. So I'm very lucky to have a great team around me. [Advantage on winning the toss] Potentially a little bit. I think both teams just wanted to get out there and see how the tournament was going to go. First game nerves, get them out of the way, and just be out there as an 11. So yeah, I'm grateful that we won the toss. [Sutherland and Litchfield] Two Aussies, obviously unbelievable off the back of a successful World Cup. It's great to have them in form and playing in our team. [Bowling options] Great. I think it just makes the batters have to keep adapting to different bowlers, and we can play around with what's working and see what the pitch is doing. [As a captain going forward] I think most people know I'm not very serious, so I'm trying to keep that bubbly side. ADR [Adrien Birell], our coach, is very funny, so he takes the lead mostly with the team chats. But yeah, nothing too heavy; quite like to keep it chilled, and then everyone can touch base with the coaches. [Kate Cross] I think we'll see how she pulls up over the next couple of days and go from there. But great fielding from her, great bowling, so good impetus. [190k price tag] It's not really been mentioned since I joined up with the team. I think it happened a long time ago, so I was able to get my head around it, figure out how I wanted to view it, and play with the pressure. I had some really good conversations around what was affecting me with the price tag, but at the end of the day, I'm a cricketer and I got picked for my skills. I'm just really trying to push that aside and play cricket. [Four overseas players] I think it's great; just more experience. The younger girls coming through get to learn from the best players around the world. I think it's great that we can play four now. [Helix trophy] I think it's nice to have two teams playing towards one aim. It's been great to get to know the boys and see if they can help us out, because they've got so much experience and have played so much cricket. It's been a busy period for the women's game. The Aussies only came in on the 19th or 20th, so they had two days to prepare. But we've played so much cricket; everyone knows what they're doing, and it's just trying to gel as a team. I think we did that well today."

Player of the Match, Phoebe Litchfield: "[Perfect start] It's been nice to get out here as a group and get out in the field. The bowlers bowled really well restricting them, and to go out there and win it pretty flawlessly with the bat was really cool. [Bowling and fielding in the first innings] Yeah, I think to your point, it was backed up in the field. The lengths we bowled early challenged them on the front foot, and there's a bit of pop in it. When we adapted, rolled our fingers over the ball, changed pace, and mixed up their swing path, it worked. Then I think our spinners held their line and length bravely. So it all worked out, and we took our catches. That's a winning formula. [Chaseable total] Coupled with a silly run out, but at the halfway mark when you know you're batting at The Oval and the target is less than 120 or 130, you know you're in the game if you have a good start. Regardless of how we want to go about it, we want to play positively and take the game on. You saw that, and once the required rate drops under a run a ball in T20 or The Hundred, you're licking your lips as a batting side. [Few days off] Head back to Leeds tomorrow - back home, get a few nice training sessions in at Headingley, get used to the conditions there, and then get back to business."

MI London Women's vs Sunrisers Leeds Attendance - 8,532

5:06 pm MI London got the exact start they were looking for, removing Smith in the very first over of the innings, but failed to capitalize on the momentum later on. Both openers were back in the hut within the first four overs, with Jonassen, who was looking in good touch, run out by Henry on 14 runs. Litchfield took her time early on before finding her rhythm with a six and a flurry of boundaries. By the end of the first 10 overs, Sunrisers Leeds were comfortably placed at 69 for 2. Litchfield kept her boundary-hitting spree going, scoring 43 off 26 balls before being clean bowled by Gordon. In the end, it turned into a walk in the park for the Orange Army; Sutherland stayed unbeaten on 30 while Gibson played a neat cameo of 12 off 7 balls. That key partnership between Litchfield and Sutherland proved to be the turning point of the chase, making light work of the target for Leeds.

From Matt Roller: Sunrisers have confirmed Kate Cross won't be available to bat today after sustaining a shoulder injury while fielding. The good news is that the shoulder isn't dislocated, but they won't know the extent of the damage until she has gone for scans.
