Time for me, Rizel Zahid, to sign off and say goodbye on behalf of our scoring guru, Binoy George.
An interesting see-saw battle and MI New York had their moments to stage a comeback but with a slightly under-par score on this sticky surface, a few big overs were all TSK needed to gain the upper hand. Some timely hits towards the end, including a classic cameo from Donovan Ferreira, who had a stellar outing with the ball earlier, made things easier while Wiaan Mulder played a responsible hand as well. Before that, Milind Kumar added 22, and Saiteja Mukkamalla provided them with a stable platform, almost playing a run-a-ball innings and soaking up the pressure. MI's Rushil Ugarkar keeps improving and bowled a fine spell, taking two key wickets while conceding just 16 runs. Tajinder Singh was economical as well, and so was Corbin Bosch, although he remained wicketless alongside Trent Boult. So, TSK restore parity and avenge their last defeat against the same opponents. This is one of the major rivalries in the league and today certainly didn't disappoint
Nicholas Pooran, MI New York Captain: 127, obviously, I think that score was probably short by about 10 to 15 runs. But having said that, that partnership in the end gave us a chance, and that's the most important thing for us. The guys came out and bowled brilliantly, kept us in the game right until the last over. So, well done to the guys, a great effort. Obviously, losing the toss this morning and coming from Dallas into these tricky conditions made things challenging, but we have to adapt and move forward. Obviously, it was a fresh surface, there was a lot of cloud cover around and moisture in the morning. We lost too many wickets in the powerplay, so we couldn't really rotate the strike or play our normal game. We had to make use of the powerplay, and unfortunately, that didn't work out. But again, we're grateful that we got 127 on the board because it gave us a chance. That shows the character in the team. We fight until the end, and everybody knows what kind of team we are. As I said, I think we bowled well. We just didn't get wickets. Their batsmen, Riley and Milind, stuck it out really well in that partnership. They didn't allow us to get back into the game by losing wickets. So, well done to them. But at the end of the day, we did what we had to do in the bowling department, which was to stay disciplined and consistent. Looking back, if we had another 10 runs, who knows? Maybe we would have won the game.
