And on that note it's a wrap from us. Thanks for keeping me company, and be sure to join us again tomorrow for yet another double-header. But for now this Madushka signing out!
Thisara Perera: "Only changed my jersey, but same tactics and same brain. It wasn't easy to bat, in the middle overs it was a little bit sticky. That's why we went with run-a-ball before going hard at the death. I always back my bowlers - two three big overs will alway happen, but we never put our heads down."
Wanindu Hasaranga: "The toss didn't matter. We need a lot of mistakes in all three departments, we didn't deserve to win. I can't blame only the batters."
Player of the Match goes to Shadab Khan for his figures of 4 for 22 as well as his 17-ball 20 with the bat.
Odinlass: "You go to keep your plate and you miss a hat-tricket! Damn it!"
10.48pm Well what a breathtaking finish to the game! At one point Kandy seemed to have this game in the bag, especially after a 23-run 13th over during a 31-ball 60-run stand between Angelo Mathews and Wanindu Hasaranga. Kandy needed 62 from 42 at that point with six wickets in hand chasing 199. But then came the mother of all collapses, as Kandy lost their last six wickets in just 13 deliveries, which included a hat-trick for Shadab Khan. In the end, Colombo sauntered to victory - one that had looked more than unlikely mere minutes prior. Shadab ended with with figures of 4 for 22, but Dunith Wellalage was also outstanding with returns of 4 for 20. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation shortly.
CAK Rajitha lbw b Wellalage 0 (3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0
7 runs and 5 wickets in the last 10 balls!
Yazdhan : "Akindu I think you might have jinxed it not I the way you intended "
MD Shanaka b Wellalage 5 (4b 1x4 0x6) SR: 125
Well the Power Blast is here, but do Kandy have anything left in the tank? It's all on Shanaka now.
