Kandy captain, Wanindu Hasaranga: [On the game] We had expected to lose because of our fielding. The batters did well. That is the only plus point we had. [Middle-order wobble] When we are chasing this type of total, it happens. My dismissal was a game-changing moment.

11.08pm It was a huge run-chase for Kandy and they gave it a fair fight but the enormity of the run chase got to them. Lahiru Udara and Pawan Sandesh were off like a train as Kandy raced to 90 in seven overs. But Zahoor Khan and then, Dunith Wellalage, turned the game on the head. Wellalage struck three times in eight balls and all but closed Kandy's chase. Three teams have qualified for the playoffs and one of Kandy or Dambulla will be the fourth to make it.
