Well that brings us to the end of the Interpros this year and it's been another excellent season. I want to thank you for following on with my commentatry throughout the season and I hope that we all got a chance to come together again in 2027. This is Justin saying goodbye from Lisburn.
Even though the rain is falling, the IP20 trophy has just been presented to the Lightning team and the players already have their medals around there necks. They've been the best team once again this season and they deserve the title.
Means that both teams will pick up two points each, which just increases the Lightning's lead at the top of the table
4pm - Bad news I'm afraid. The rain is still falling here and the Umpires feel that there is no chance for the ground to dry out before the cut off point. What a shame that we aren't going to be able to finish the season off with some cricket being played.
Looking at the weather forecast we are due to have a bit of rain around 3pm, although it is due to clear up after that. It would be good if we can get this final game in rather than the season ending in a damp squib. I'll make sure that I keep you updated as we go along. It's a shame that the early game this morning was interrupted so many times by the rain, although the Lightning once again showed how impressive they were with the bat. Harry Tector hit a very classy fifty and helped his team to the win. Josh Little played this morning but won't be part of the team this afternoon as Cricket Ireland look to manage his return from injury.
They came close to upsetting the Warriors before falling away at the end, which means that this is the last chance for the Knights to pick up a win this season. Morgan Topping was the only one of their top order to impress yesterday, although there was an excellent cameo from Ryan Hunter, who was making his debut from number 9.
Afternoon, welcome to the final game in the Cricket Ireland interprovincial IP20 competition this season as the Northern Knights host the Leinster Lightning. After the results yesterday and this morning the Lightning have already claimed the IP20 title. I'm sure that both teams will want to win the final game to finish 2026 off in style, which means that we should have an exciting game ahead of us. It's Justin Smyth here again and I'll be here on comms bringing you ball by ball coverage of the game today.
