Alabama DB Kirkpatrick dismissed from program, DeBoer says

Alabama defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr., who is facing misdemeanor charges related to allegedly threatening communications with a police officer, has been dismissed from the program, coach Kalen DeBoer said Tuesday.

Kirkpatrick was arrested Friday on charges of doxing and harassing communications with a police officer involved in his arrest in 2025, according to reports. Kirkpatrick was suspended prior to Saturday's win over Texas A&M.

The veteran defensive back allegedly sent the officer a profanity-laced message that included, "text me back don't be no b----!" according to documents obtained by WBRC and The Tuscaloosa Thread. Kirkpatrick allegedly posted a photo of the officer and his family to his Facebook page with the caption, "Dis him?"

"After gathering more information on the situation, Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. will no longer be a part of our program," DeBoer said in a statement. "He did not live up to the standards and expectations that I have set for this team and our players."

Kirkpatrick was arrested last year on three counts of reckless endangerment, attempting to elude police and speeding. He was suspended in October and did not play for the rest of the season.

Kirkpatrick, who rejoined the team in the spring, is facing an additional misdemeanor charge from June for leaving the scene of an accident.

The second-string inside cornerback's father is former Alabama and NFL cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick Sr.

Kirkpatrick appeared in every game before Saturday and has four tackles on the season.

DeBoer told reporters Monday that Kirkpatrick is "not with us."
