Alabama and athletic director Greg Byrne have agreed to a revised two-year contract extension that will pay him an average annual base salary of $2.67 million through June 30, 2033.
The school's compensation committee approved the deal during a meeting on Monday.
Byrne, 54, was previously the athletic director at Mississippi State and Arizona. He was hired by Alabama in 2017. His previous contract paid him $2.09 million annually.
He was instrumental in the hiring of Kalen DeBoer as football coach upon the retirement of Nick Saban in 2023. He gave DeBoer a two-year contract extension and raise in April following the team's appearance in the College Football Playoff last season. Byrne also hired basketball coach Nate Oats and baseball coach Rob Vaughn.
Oats, who was hired from Buffalo in 2019, has led the Crimson Tide to six straight NCAA tournament appearances, including three trips to the Sweet 16 and once to the Final Four. Vaughn helped get Alabama into the College World Series last season.
"Greg's tenure at UA has consistently yielded significant academic and athletic success for our student athletes," Alabama president Dr. Peter J. Mohler said. "He has also established himself as a premier leader in collegiate athletics. Greg provides stable force that is pivotal in helping UA both navigate the current environment and chart a course for our future."
The compensation committee approved a 5-year contract for softball coach Patrick Murphy, through 2031, that will pay him $600,000 annually. He was making $530,000.
