Wisconsin freshman quarterback Ryan Hopkins is expected to get his first start against Rutgers on Saturday, replacing Colton Joseph, a source confirmed to ESPN.
Joseph, who has started eight games for the Badgers this season, could potentially be available, but he has been dealing with injuries. He has thrown for 1,346 yards this season, with 11 touchdowns, five interceptions and a 55.6% completion rate.
Hopkins, a highly regarded player from Mater Dei in Southern California, replaced Joseph in the second half of last week's loss to Iowa and completed 8 of 13 passes for 93 yards and an interception.
The Badgers' quarterback change was first reported by CBS Sports.
