LSU defensive back Dashawn Spears will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury sustained in Saturday's 32-24 loss at Ole Miss, coach Lane Kiffin confirmed Monday.
A 6-foot-3 junior, Spears played safety early in his career before moving to the star position this season.
"It's unfortunate," Kiffin said. "He's a really unique player. Really long. He's a special player. It's going to be a really tough loss for us."
Meanwhile, tight end Trey'Dez Green is expected to miss time with a leg injury suffered in the second half against Ole Miss. Green's mother posted on social media Sunday that an MRI showed no ligament tears, but he was expected to "miss some games."
