San Diego goes 6-0 in Pioneer with 27-3 win over Marist
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Jonah Hodges ran for two touchdowns as San Diego remained undefeated in conference with a 27-3 win over Marist on Saturday.
Hodges had 175 yards rushing on 33 carries or the Toreros (7-1, 6-0 Pioneer Football League). Anthony Lawrence threw for 195 yards and a score.
It was the first conference loss for the Red Foxes (4-4, 4-1).
Hodges ran for a 7-yard touchdown midway through the fourth quarter and another from short yardage to make it 27-3 with 2:22 left to play.
Lawrence threw a scoring pass to Ross Dwelley in the first quarter and Patrick Murray kicked a pair of field goals in the second for a 13-3 Torero lead at halftime.
Last week, Lawrence threw for a personal-best five touchdowns in USD's 49-10 home win over Valparaiso.
Mike Maccarone scored for Marist on a 27-yard field goal with 13 seconds left in the first half.
